The Simplex hanger has an unthreaded 9mm hole with no B screw stops on the outside. It has enough material to file in stops and it can be tapped out to the10mm thread used by most rear deraillers. I could easily do that to either the Peugeot or Gitane but even though neither one is in great shape cosmetically I have a possibly illogical aversion to altering them. I had no qualms about having a Campy style hanger brazed on to my '73 Raleigh International because someone had already hacked off it's Huret hanger so the "damage" was already done. Which was too bad because it has pretty decent original paint but it was easy to repaint the new hanger and blend the paint and the shop that did the work made it look factory original. BUT, my Super Course has no hanger and I have the (hopefully correct) Huret claw mount.
