Why frighten kids for something that is unlikely to happen and if it did, the Fumble ****s in charge fail to execute the plan. These jagovs cant even decide whether or not to cancel school when snow is predicted.
At that point it was bombers over the arctic, so... many hours. Far more than with missiles, and plenty of time to get the word out. Worth it? Who knows; I wasn't there. But it wasn't because they were pretending that desks would save kids from a nuclear blast.
