FWIW, I've started unzipping most of my full-zip jerseys 3/4 down, and pulling them over. Too many of my newer jerseys have zippers better suited for some dainty compact compartment in a lady's purse than a jersey, and it's getting hard to see the zipper to manipulate the fragile things to zip or unzip all the way.
That's a great idea! So obvious but I never thought of it. I've lost a couple of jerseys due to that tiny zipper ripping or stretching at the point of contact and it just gets worse trying too hard to make it work.
