Sorry to hear the bad news.

I know what you mean.
I had shoulder (rotator cuff) surgery Nov 29 and the doc said no riding for 12 weeks. That's why I just started commuting again two weeks ago.

At least you can ride the trainer. I had to wait almost 6 week before I could do that.

Not sure if I could handle the chewing part. I like chewy snacks.

Be sure and eat lots of jello and ice cream.
