Mountain/glacier sunglasses w/ side shields which should, in theory, nearly eliminate wind w/o being so snug they fog. Reactive lenses for changing light (many % ranges are available).
NB some models come with a second set of lenses, either clear or light yellow/orange, for dim and night conditions. One pair for all uses.

All I can say is "don't do that" WRT losing glasses, because cheap and effective are very rare. I'm persnickety about my glasses and my most common sin is dropping them on pavement, lens-down. The worst.
