Is that because you want to justify buying 2 slightly different bikes? Otherwise I don't see a real problem here. The pros have realised that they might as well use their aero road bike in the mountains, so the need for a "climbing" bike with less aero, that weighs exactly the same within a few grams is pointless. They might switch from 50 to 30 mm deep wheels for mountain stages, but that's about all.
