Those are only sort of staked or peened on, and they do come loose sometimes, not just a theoretical concern.

Mafac's instructions BITD even said to braze there, sorry I don't have a link or a scan to show you, this is from memory. On the plus side, it's such a quick braze, no cleanup needed afterward other than soaking the flux off.
I'm always open to suggestions, and never pass up an opportunity to braze and flux again, but these posts are brazed from the back/inside of the square . They are the original ones (heated them off), and I noticed big globby brazes on the inside of the mounting bracket. They thought no one would look there...

I will recheck, and perhaps touch them up.
