Had I been his coach, and I would have seen he had an event in a few weeks, Zone 2 would have been on the shelf a month ago. Of course, Z2 rides are a once a week experience, not an "every time I don't have a particular workout on tap" thing to do.
My garmin trainer calls for 2 zone 2 rides a week. intervals the other days. if not zone 2 then what?
First race is a gravel thing that doesn’t count towards my ranking. More for fun. I’m not sure what actual road racing i’m going to do.
