Had been using a razor comb since High School to keep my hair manageable. My mother demanded I get a BARBER HAIRCUT for my wedding June 1973 and then back to razor comb. In April 2011 my wife used a WAHL Electric after a paceline crash had me in a neck brace 24/7 for 16 weeks and I have done straight on but now I shave using the #1/2 guard - 1.5mm buzz. I bike to grocery stores, doctors, Home Depot, Post Office, etc.
and only remove helmet when in medical building.
As for looks in a bicycling kit, soon 74yo, 5' 8", 140lb to 145lb, body looks fine but face is older than dirt looking thanks to Prostate Cancer and no testosterone.
