Well, I was keeping it as original as possible..
The AGC300 brake calipers had unobtainium pads (I like Kool Stop better anyway), so those had to go. The tire clearance issue is pretty tough on these too. I had used the Shimano 410 dual pivot calipers before on a couple of bikes and knew they would clear the tires well enough, so that's the way I'm going for now. The AGC levers almost didn't make it until I finally got good hoods from down under.
The Suntour Symmetric shifters are a pretty nice unit, auto trimming the FD with RD shifting.
I'm going to ride it a bit on the 700x23 clinchers and then decide whether to go tubular for a better ride.
I don't know whether I'll eventually try to go more Superbe on this or not.
