26.8 and a Columbus decal = probably Aelle (regular, not sure what Aelle R frames used). If it was SP (which would be sort of likely for an Italian frame 60cm or taller) that would typically use a 27.0 post unless reamed out so the company (Faggin) can use the far more popular 27.2 seatpost.

I hear the women who run Faggin are open to answering inquiries from Faggin owners, so you might ask them, especially if there's a serial number on yours they can reference.
