As I have posted before, I carry lots to tools and repair parts in my trunk pack, and always stop to help any one stranded. But strangely enough one the the tools I use the most on these occasions is my 6 inch crescent wrench, usually old beater bikes.
I used to carry one of those - a great bike tool back in the day. It could change a wheel, tighten a brake bolt, tighten a pedal, adjust a cable, etc.
