Rubbing alcohol
I just rescued a Trek 700 Multitrack for $30 at a garage sale that was beyond filthy. Missing tires, tubes and seatpost. I used rubbing alcohol, clayed it, then used some Simoniz ceramic coating. The end result is much better than when I rescued it.
