Sadly, I am garage-less, so my workstand is kept collapsed in a closet and only comes out -- to the front porch, usually -- when it's time for some serious maintenance work.
So OP's suggestion to use the car rack is quite appealing, genuinely appreciated. It's easier to take my bike to the car than it is to pull my workstand out of the closet!
