I have been actively selling bikes and projects in a serious drive to narrow down the bike pile around here, but when I saw this today at the local bike thrift store for dirt cheap, I had to pick it up.
Mostly catalog stock ~'73 Motobecane Grand Record.
Unfortunately, the Brooks Professional is destroyed.
Fortunately, all the Campagnolo bits and the Specialites TA crankset are there.
Unfortunately, much of the hardware is rusty.
Fortunately, the seatpost and stem are not stuck.
In a "yeah, right, sure, here hold my beer" moment, I actually aired up the [extremely dry rotted, turning to dust] tires and rode it up and down the driveway a couple times.
Everything got a heavy dose of penetrant, and it can just hang in the basement until.....Clunker Challenge time perhaps?
