For non-aero, there are a number of older models (65??, 55??, 4400). Many of the Shimano 9 speed brifters will do both 2x or 3x. Exception to note is that the ST-45?? series, which had 4500 which did 2x or 3x, and later 4501 which was 2x and had 4503 front for 3X (if memory serves).
Yes, that's what I am seeing. Thanks for confirming. I may just stick with down tube friction and keep this as a use what you have on hand kind of project.
