48x14 for a newbie it is too much gear. He is not trained to move that gear faster enough, not wonder trackers are masive hehehe... and 48x15 wont be enough gear for racing seriously, the other guys will put 50x15 that is the regular gear an adult or a junior uses.. so go ahead ford... u can do it
