There's a step counter available on iPhone.

According to my watch, 8,000 steps a day is a good target for being fit.

You should probably know this as a doctor.
I turned off the fitness app on my iPhone. It consistently told me I wasn’t moving, even as I rode 22 miles daily. It knows how to count steps but not pedal strokes. Idiotic. I now have my RWGPS feeding into the fitness app, though it’s still turned off.
