It would be nice to see some pics of your adjustable and fixed cups. I have never seen one as you have described. But, Sheldon does describe a home made gizmo that should do the job for you. Do yourself a favor and hit those cups with some Liquid Wrench or PB Blaster right now and that will make your job a lot easier when you go to unscrew them.
