Indeed, they are Italian. Marin had these frames built by Billato Brothers, purveyors of all sorts of boutique frames sold under many names.
i had a San Marino like that, a bunch of years back. Be careful with those “flying buttress” shift cable stops, one broke off and I had to have it welded back on, ruining the paint.
