I have a Domane SLR 7, but only because I got such a deal, that I could not pass it up. I was not looking for it, but when you can save 7.5K , yea you buy the SLR 7 model. When I was looking at the Checkpoint, I opted to buy the Frame only in the SL model and then got the parts to build it up and using some parts I already had saving some funds that way. So that is an option
