I don't ever want a narrower tire on any of my bikes, in fact most of my bikes I would want to go a little wider if I could. For the average rider there is really no real drawbacks to a wider tire (up to a point). There are some here and there but if you aren't racing and just out there having fun or commuting the drawbacks really don't make a big enough impact on that riding. Probably my next road bike is going to be on 35s and I would want everything else wider as well. I used to ride really narrow tires and slowly got wider and wider and realized how great it is and don't want to go back.
