- MTBs have trail that is on the high end of the spectrum and MTB tires are relatively wide.
- Road race bikes have trail that is on the low end of the spectrum and road tires are relatively narrow.

You are wanting to buy a gravel bike, so I used a 40mm tire as reference since that is a pretty middle of the road gravel tire size(38-45 being the general core size range).

Gotcha yeah I see what you're saying. Maybe I'll go find a a couple similar bikes in terms of trail and ride them. I largely suspect though that for the kind of riding and experience riding I have it's not a distinction I would even notice.
