Bikes: Time Scylon, Lynskey R350, Ritchey Breakaway, Ritchey Double Switchback, Lynskey Ridgeline, ICAN Fatbike

I have 4 bikes that I commute on. Each one is for different conditions. Fat bike for more than 6 inches of snow or when there is drifting snow. Mountain bike for 1 to 6 inches of snow. Drop bar Lynskey Ridgeline for minimal or packed snow or ice. Road bike (yeah, the Scylon) for roads devoid of ice and snow. It all boils down to this: I take the easiest (fastest) ride for the conditions.

My previous (now backup) road bike has electronic shifting (Campagnolo EPS) and rim brakes. The replacement (the Scylon) has mechanical shifting, because EPS now costs too much, and hydraulic disk brakes. Do I miss the electronic shifting? Nope.

All my commuters have hydraulic disk brakes. Because... duh... they work better. I have never had a hydraulic brake failure on the road that I couldn't deal with.

Two of the four are SRAM GX off road drive train. With Hope cranks and brakes. Two are Ekar. If I was going to live with a single "commuter" bike it would probably be the drop bar Lynskey.
