Maybe, maybe not. I think yes in a heavy urban traffic environment it can be less handy but in my case the light it provides is quite nice and alerts other drivers or people behind you that you are there so it can maintain a solid light and then a little pattern when they come closer and back to solid. I say some of the time I know someone is coming behind but in some cases it is nice to know.
