I guess you can study a subject so long that all the info starts to be overwhelming. As Richard said, maybe you run with multiple options. I have run with different styles of Cygolites that are rechargeable from the rear. I have a 20,000 mah battery that supplements my electronics on the handle bar (phone, lights and Garmin 820). Having different style cord connectors needs to manages as well.

Some of the newer lights that were suggested here, have the newer USB-C style connector and frankly, thought of stringna fourth type of cable up my tiller post was not at the top of my list of things to do. As a result, I selected a Trek Ion Pro RT (purchased from REI). It has the same type of connector (mini USB) as the Garmin 820. It has the connection port underneath the body, which will aid in preventing rain intrusion.

One thing I failed to confirm before I purchased the $140 light, will it charge while in operation. If anyone has that answer, I would appreciate the info. Since I purchased this from REI, I have a 30 day trial period.
