The auto routing doesn't seem too useful. I asked for a 20 mile route to the north, and it gave me a 29 mile route. When I increased the distance to 40 miles, it gave me a 25 mile route. In another case, it bypassed a 3 mile stretch of road (with a 10 foot bike shoulder) in favor of residential side streets involving 14 turns. Ugh!
