My old co worker made one for one of those aluminum Schwinns (454?). Found a steel straight pillar post the right size, cut the bottom at an angle and fitted a quill stem bolt and wedge. May have needed a washer between bolt head and seat post top. It worked quite well. Success of this may depend on what diameter post is needed.
