I am a HUGE fan of the Pasela tires, and use them in 700 x 28, 700 x 32 and 27 x 1 1/4-in formats. In the last size, they are what I am running on my full 531 1976 Puch Royal X. I note that my tires are wire bead, but the rims are hooked Rigidas from the very late 70s. No issues so far, but I am sure foldable ones would be lighter. I would NOT, however, run foldable on non-hooked rims - I did that c.1978 with early Michelin Elans that need hooked rims on straight walled Weinmanns, and used up a lifetime's worth of guttural consonants describing the result.

Seriously, Paselas are really nice tires, especially for the money. I found Continentals in general and Gatorskins in particular to have a rougher ride quality that was less enjoyable. YMMV.
