When I last had to seek a cable replacement for the second version I didn't find any bike shop suppliers stocking them any longer and since the industry has moved on (by a lot some will say) to current lever detent designs I won't expect to see any more made. I suspect that you'll be searching EBay, and the like, world for someone who has old stock and would love to sell it (likely at a higher price than when it was current). Do your homework well first. Learn the actual version you have and carefully measure the current cable length as well as noting any housing end caps and clips. Back in the day when these were common stock items in your LBS there were a few different lengths (for the II version) and it was also common to break into a complete "cable kit" and "steal" a small part for the repair that otherwise has a good cable (lost that weird folded over piece of steel that helps clamp the cable when it dropped on the dirty floor and hour ago...) make sure whatever you do find has all the bits you need. Don't toss out the old bits yet. Good luck. Andy (who has "prayed to the god Floor" too many times)
