Virginias New River Trail

I'm not sure where this goes but I'll put it here if some has a better place move it.

I just came back from a ride on the New River Rails to Trails trail. Neat ride. Day one I started at 3:30 PM from Pulaski and road 22.5 miles toward Galax. I realized that I wouldn't get ther before dark so went back to my truck. Driving over those railroad tressels in the dark is wierd - anyway suction would keep you from falling off the bike. The next day I rode from Galax to just beyond where I was the first day. So I did 63 miles that day Does than count as a metric century? 108 miles in two days and 63 miles in one day are records for me - I know y'all can do more but I'm happy and it was all dirt on a mtn bike after all.

Great trail they maintain it well. It was a little soft due to recient rains but good over all. Bridges from just slightly longer than wide to what seemed like forever making knuckles white. Two tunnels, one long and curved so you couldn't see all the way through it. Overall seenery was good, maybe slightly less spectular than the Virginia Creeper Trail, but not much.

I met a nice couple from Bluefield Wva and told them about Bike forms - hope they join.

Joe
