Not sure that a carbon fiber version would offer much over the aluminum Softride stem, which is what I used. (Photo is from a current eBay listing.)

Apparently the aluminum version is more highly prized, since most of the steel Softride stems on eBay are listed at around $50 or so whereas the aluminum ones seem to tend to be listed at closer to $200.
