I really wanted to reply to a thread that got closed.
I did not want to start a new thread with my comment.

This senior is looking for a good walking shoe. Since most of my walking will be on paved surfaces I want a shoe optimized for that purpose. Selection seems limited.
Why don't shoe manufacturers make more WALKING shoes? I see running shoes, hiking shoes, basketball shoes, loafers, sandals, slippers (

), flip-flops, loungers, brogues. There's more Cowboy boots than walking shoes. Most people walk more than run, hike or flip! I get loungers and loafers for the couch crowd. Sandals and flipflops for the beach crowd. I even get cowboy boots for your cows, but why no more walkers? And who would ever buy "slippers". I'm open to material and construction technology - as long as it has a good sole. Your opinion, as long as it agrees with mine, is welcome.
