I'll see if I can rustle up a photo when I'm in the workshop tomorrow as I think there's one bike easily accessible with such a setup, if not I'll grab a rear mech and dummy it for some pics.
One of my favourite setups in recent years has been 10sp Mk2 Ergos (rounded hood tops rather than pointy) mated to a slightly modified Suntour VX s mid-cage rear derailleur and Shimano RSX front derailleur to run a custom spaced 8sp 12-26 cassette and 26/36/48 triple on one of my Audax bikes, put many thousands of miles on that setup and it's still the best mix of reliability, smoothness and overall capability I've ever used in terms of Ergo-shifted drivetrains :-)
That is simply too cool. I love the Vx mid cage derailleur, used one for years on my first road bike.

If it doesn't click for you,... we've all been there too.

I have to admit that after many years of downtube friction shifting I'm very much enjoying trying out STI/ergo for my first time. Especially up in the Oakland/Berkeley hills.

I can't believe it, but after your comment I double checked and I've been making do with a park tool FR-7 rather than the appropriate FR 1.3

Up until now I've been able to shove the tool into Shimano 600 freewheels well enough. No wonder it never seemed to be the right fit!
