If it doesn't ride well for you, then you can always go back to a smaller width. So try it and you'll know. Asking will only tell you the opinions of me and others.

We use to run way oversize tires on our narrow rims a long time ago when a pre-teen. One of the things we noted was that the wider tire on the narrower rim seemed to roll side to side when we went fast along twisty bends. That was solved by putting more pressure in the tire. In todays desire to have comfortable cushy feeling with the road instead of the rock hard pressures we ran BITD, you might find that wider isn't necessarily better at some point for that rim.
