I've watched this about 30 times and from different angles. Philipsen forced De Lie to the left, which caused Thijssen to the edge of the barriers, which in turn crashed Mads. I'll grant that he was focused on what was going on in front of him, but it was a very dangerous move (the sort of thing he commonly does, unfortunately). It's just a matter of time until this self-absorbed jerk ends someone's career with his antics.
