The car mags have correct descriptions, I forget what they are. Off the top of my head, some possible examples:
- Battery powered electric motor assisted, gasoline engine driven and charging, parallel hybrid. (early Honda system)
- Gasoline engine generator and plug-in battery electric motor, series hybrid. (early Toyota system, but with additional plug-in charging)
i think the reasoning for automotive to have such descriptions is to b/c they have to follow certain standards/regs that dictate nomenclature use.
