Wouldn't it be simpler if he walked and avoided all the complexity of the bicycle itself?
I mean, I got into cycling as a teenager, then got into racing bikes. In my college years and immediately after, I transitioned to running. A big part of getting started on that transition was that bikes of the mid-90's era felt like they were getting too complicated and running was more simple, more foundational, and more primal.
