I keep being amazed at the amount of "expressing" going on in American cycling. It seems that by simply riding a bicycle one is automatically associated with some sort of lifestyle or social or political preference, voluntarily or not.
In my country 'cyclist' is just a technical term for a person riding a bicycle. Everyone rides a bike, to work, to school or just for recreation. With the exception of a few wannabe racers no-one dresses up for it. We just grab the bike and go.
