On helmets you do not have to spend a lot of money for a good, safe helmet, but everyting I have sseen make sure the helmet is not a "knock off", a cheap no name helmet from amazon can work (I love Kask helmets but make sure your not buying a "name brand" helmet for $20, the knock offs do not offer safety (I have seen videos where cheap helmets hold up ok but a 'fake" helmet falls apart when stressed
