I’ll never buy that younger beginners lack the mental capacity and motor skills to shift a front derailleur.

Younger generations are far superior in nearly every sport than their older counterparts at the same age. Youth always pushes the limits and every generation takes it up a notch.

The biggest problem with bikes is the garbage sold at a discount and not an LBS. I imagine most bike sales occur online and discount stores where there is zero advice given on technique and no maintenance is considered until something breaks.

Shame on an LBS if a bike they sold returns due to improper technique.
