That's very helpful stuff - and I'm proud to have pulled off the double Peugeot identification. I think I like Raleigh better than Peugeot or Bianchi in part because they write the name of the model on the bike in a way that stays on for decades!
I hadn't noticed the bolts on the Stronglight cranks. I'm a big fan of chainring options and that (49D?) retains the aesthetic of the original.
I've had a bike with Delrin before and experienced the frustration of the FD. It felt entirely stable when I brought it home, but the simple act of removing it was enough to bring on failure. I'll certainly stay in the Simplex family here, though.
I'm probably not going to be picky about wheels, to be honest. If I get the donor bike, I'll have those choices plus whatever is hanging in the garage and something will be suitable for the near term.
The donor bike seems like a good plan other than the 5 hour round trip to get the darn thing. I'll see how my schedule comes together this week. Seller seems nice enough to work with me - though I didnt mention it would be a donor.
Thanks!
