That was smart to have some protection on the threads. Probably saved you from having to break out the drill. Anyways, it's not uncommon for the rivnuts to develop some slop after many miles as the bottle cage is going through a gazillion side-to-side wiggles with a heavy water bottle in it after thousands of miles so it's a good idea to check for looseness every few years or so.
