Hi folks,
Thanks again for all the helpful replies!
Swisscycle: Thanks v much for the article, that made a lovely read with my morning coffee! It's such a small world as the place mentioned in the article where Markus gets this SS serviced is the very same mechanic that my friend got and still gets his vintage SS serviced in Edinburgh.
79pmooney: Thanks again for more helpful info, much appreciated! The hub nuts were actually one of the first things to get replaced on this bike. The washers and nuts supplied were a pain at best, but I got hold of some Runwell Elite hub nuts and what a difference, along with a good quality 15mm rachet spanner! That all sounds pretty straightforward, as its basically just a fined tuned method of what I'd do to remove the rear wheel. In the last couple of days I've added a chain tensioner (Tuggnut) ot the chain side dropout as I was struggling a little to keep the axle fixed as I tightened it up. What a difference thats already made to the speed of the job, not to mention my patience and sanity!
PS: I'll definietly check out the Pedros as I need something I can carry with me when I'm out and about and don't have a drawer full of shop tools!
Thanks a lot as always folks, very much apperciated
