SRAM wouldn't need to be involved finding hoses. Still unsure if this was a bike you are building from the frame up or a bike you bought in a box with parts attached? Either way SRAM again wouldn't need to be involved. It is either an issue which you solved at the local shop by buying longer hoses or an issue you would take up with the manufacturer for sending a bike with short hoses and they would either send you hoses or a credit or something.

The barbs are nice. SRAM's brakes minus the whole DOT fluid thing are actually quite improved and while I am unlikely to use them (except maybe a set of the EVH Maven Brakes) I will say I am not so opposed to them anymore.
