Sure. It's how some people get their jollies ... inflicting damage and injuries on others. Comes down to how people were raised, by and large. Some weren't.

I've seen motor vehicles sabotaged, and bicycles. Haven't yet seen any cycling trails where this has been done. Though I have seen trails used "hard" and abused/damaged, then left that way for others to clean up after them. But I've seen plenty of trees in forests about to be logged have spikes implanted in order to injure people and destroy equipment.

Some acts aren't deemed beneath a person. It's what culture has produced.
