Not to sound too harsh, but this has all the smell of a "way more effort and cost than it is worth." This is a low-end wheel so it is not clear why you are trying to save that hub. If you insist on reusing the spokes and rim, get a cheap replacement hub and rebuild the wheel. Plastic? Talk about the wrong material choice for this application. Save yourself the headache and heartache and move on.
Today I must agree with you. I assume(d) the material is plastic as it fractured in a longitudinal manner. Doesn't matter now. If I can not get enough material help from the co op, then I will just chuck/donate the wheel. Gave it the ol' college try.
