1. Grizzly Century, North Fork, CA. Some of the quietest and most beautiful roads in the Sierra. The region is south of Yosemite Park and is just as pretty, but there is almost no traffic. 10,000 feet of climbing (yay!). The first Saturday in early October.

2. Climb to Kaiser, Clovis, CA. A challenging and beautiful ride in the mountains south of the Grizzly Century. Starts in the valley (387'), climbs up to Kaiser Pass (9128'), then returns to the valley. 155 miles, 14,000+ feet.

3. Everest Challenge, Bishop, CA. 2 days, ~210 miles, 29,035 feet. Need I say more? Maybe a profile will help:

High desert, high alpine, highest paved road in California, oldest living things on the planet, biggest climbs of just about anywhere.
