Nope. A friend told me they were looking in my mouth but didn’t see anything obvious. I already had a mechanical aortic valve necessitated by a congenital defect that had to be addressed at age 25. As a result, I have been taking Warfarin since then. Wondering if got a small cut in my mouth that didn’t heal well and let in some bacteria. I don’t remember much except that I started getting sick Thursday night because I sent an email to some friends I was supposed to have lunch with that afternoon saying I had a bad night last night and had to cancel. The only other thing I remember before an EMT revived me with Narcan (I rememer him kneeling over me with a small plastic vial in his hand) was bouncing down the steps on my butt in the middle of the night Saturday and thinking “That was convenient. I didn’t have to walk.” The neighbors on one side of me later told me they heard at bunch of banging around that time and thought someone was trying to break into their house.

The neighbors on the other side of me noticed my back door open for an extended period of time on Sunday. My cat was running in and out onto the back deck, and the only light on was in the bathroom. They went to the other neighbors’ place. The wife of that couple has the combination to my key lock box from cat sitting. They performed a welfare check and found me.

Never underestimate the value of a cat.
