Of course I'm annoyed. And whether or not I posted all the facts is irrelevant because I didn't ask the forum for advice or lectures on what I may or may not have done wrong. I asked a question about curb cuts. If you don't have anything to say about them, don't post.
Not derailing your thread with assumptions. YOU POSTED THE INFORMATION!

You said and I quote

The problem is, around the time I would normally start braking, a car came up beside me fast in the adjacent turn lane, and took my attention away as I turned to look at this car to determine whether they were going to turn in front of me and cut me off. I wound up locking up my brakes, fishtailing, and going over the handlebars.

If you are mad about what YOU wrote that is on YOU. You gave us the story and now are trying to say your own story isn't true or something like that. I am sorry you didn't write YOUR story the way YOU wanted it written.

I do have an opinion on curb cuts they had ZERO relevance in your story and are placed as they are for a reason. In your specific case YOU knew they were coming

You knew that was coming up so the cut of the curb being cut had no bearing. You also knew it was a busy road so cars coming up were normal and they didn't sneak up on you. Them driving on the roads is pretty normal and them turning in a turn lane is pretty normal for any road so I am confused where the need for distraction was?

If you want a different story you should have posted the different story. YOU posted the story I took information from the story YOU posted with "your own words" (obviously not they are common English words but they are typed by you in the way you wanted them typed, unless you dictated them to someone)

If you wanted to talk about curb cuts your other story about "bombing down the hill" wouldn't be needed. I would have written it similarly to this:
"I recently was riding down a hill on a bike path that ends at the road and instead of the ramp to get off the sidewalk onto the street it is placed at a weird angle, why would someone do that?" The hill bombing that lead to the crash, you getting distracted all of that is left out of it since it would be irrelevant to curb cuts but since you had that entire story you obviously were fine with people talking about it. Why post it if not?

This is a discussion forum and if you don't like discussion about what YOU posted in YOUR thread maybe a different forum might make sense or just keeping on the topic you wanted to talk about.
